Dr. Chen was raised in the Lower East Side of Manhattan, New York. He graduated from Stuyvesant High School. He studied psychology at the State University of New York Buffalo, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude with a B.A. in Psychology. He went on to work for the Department of Thoracic Surgery at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York prior to attending medical school.
Dr. Chen attended medical school at the State University of New York Downstate, where he continued on to complete his pediatric residency training. Dr. Chen has had a diverse training, from specialized hospitals like Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center to level one trauma hospitals like Kings County Hospital Center. As a result he is well trained for visits ranging from well child visits to urgent care sick visits. Patient well-being and satisfaction is paramount to his practice philosophy.
After residency, he worked at a private pediatric practice in Manhattan and as a hospitalist at Staten Island University Hospital. He is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, the Chinese American Medical Society, and the Chinese American IPA. He is conversant in Mandarin and in Cantonese.
Dr. Chen joined Milestones Pediatrics of New York, PC in January 2012.
Dr. Chen currently resides in Brooklyn, NY with his two sons and twin daughters. In his spare time, he is an avid baseball fan. He is a former Chinatown YMCA Softball Golden Glove Award recipient.
